Laptime/Segment/Position Data Added to the Website
I recently added to the database laptime/segment/position data for Supercross main events, Premier and Lites class. The online results with times only go to 2003 so that is as far as the data goes. Segment data did not come into the scene full time until 2007 so for 2003-2006, it is mainly just lap times and lap positions. I encourage everyone to delve into the results archive here on smxmuse to check out this data further! All one needs to do is click on the row of a rider in a main event to unveil their lap/segment data and where it ranks in the race.
These fastest lap tables are a way to show off some of this new data. Eli Tomac has a staggering lead in most main events with the fastest lap. 23 of his 75 come from triple crown mains. He is the only rider to have double digit triple crown mains with the fastest lap. The next closest riders, Ken Roczen and Chase Sexton, have 9.
Ryan Villopoto's 48.15% of main events with the fastest lap almost matches his staggering 44.57% main event win percentage. With only 21 starts, Jett Lawrence is second to Villopoto at 44.44%. Can Jett catch up to RV and throw down some fast laps in 2027?
