450 Class
Hunter Lawrence
Hunter Lawrence bounced back in a big way at Budds Creek by dominating the motos, going 1-1 and leading 35/36 laps. Most importantly, he regained the red plate and will lead his brother Jett by one point going into the final day. Hunter is up to 181 laps led this season which clinches himself as the laps led leader of the season as Jett has the second most with 133.
Hunter’s first moto win as a clinic in terms of pace and consistency. He had the fastest lap, average lap, and had the third best lap time consistency rating in the moto. He had the first or second fastest lap time in every lap except one. In moto two it was more of the same, he a top three fastest lap time in every lap in all but one of them.
With this win, Hunter has clinched the tie breaker over Jett in the scenario they tie at Ironman. He now has six overalls wins this season compared to Jett’s four. This was Hunter’s fourth 1-1 of the season and his career and ties him with his compatriot Chad Reed for 1-1s in the 450 class.
Jorge Prado
Jorge Prado earned back to back second overalls with his 3-3 moto scores. This is the first time Prado has finished on the podium at back to back races in the States. He now has six moto podiums in his last seven motos with the one non podium being a fourth. He has four podiums now this season and they have all been second place finishes.
In moto two at Budds Creek, Prado set the fastest lap of the moto and ended with the third best average lap time. His speed has been prevalent now in the last four motos as he has set the fastest lap time of the race in three of those four. Prado had his best pair of starts since Red Bud where he earned both holeshots. Prado started fourth and second at Budds Creek. His average lap one position for the season is now 6.70, third best in class.
Haiden Deegan
Haiden Deegan’s 2-4 moto scores earned him another podium with third overall. Deegan now has five consecutive overall podiums which is the new longest streak in the class. His fourth in moto two was his first non-podium result in the second moto since the opener but his second in moto one was his best ever moto one score on a 450 and his first moto one podium since a third at Southwick.
In moto one, Deegan had the second best average lap and second best lap time consistency score. He had the first or second best lap time every single lap except for one, which was the third best time. He pulled the holeshot in moto one and now has a holeshot three rounds in a row. He is the only rider this season to accomplish that.
Jett Lawrence
Uncharacteristically bad starts for Jett Lawrence relegated him to fourth overall with 5-2 moto scores. He lost the ten point points lead he had entering the race and now trails Hunter by one point. Jett’s average first lap position from both motos at Budds Creek was 14.00. That is his worst from at least the last two seasons. It’s the first time he has started tenth or worse in both motos.
Jett had one race in his 450 MX career in which he failed to lead a lap in either moto entering the 2026 season. After Budds Creek, he now has three of them this season, the other two happening at Fox Raceway and High Point. Jett did put on a valiant charge in moto two which saw him set the fastest lap time in eight of the last ten laps to get into second on the final lap. Despite coming through the pack, he ended with the second fastest average time that moto.
Mikkel Haarup
Mikkel Haarup had a career day for himself and Triumph. The Danish man went 8-5 for fifth overall. His previous best on a 450 was seventh, set at Red Bud and High Point. Seventh was also his previous best moto finish, set four times, before his breakthrough for fifth in the second moto at Budds Creek. His fifth place after lap one in moto two was his best first lap position since moto one at Hangtown.
Haarup is the first rider from a Nordic country to finish in the top five of the 450 class in over 50 years. Gunnar Lindstrom of Sweden back in 1972 was the last and only other to do so.
Cooper Webb
In the penultimate race of his motocross career, Cooper Webb scored sixth overall with 6-9 moto scores. His 29 points earned are the most he’s secured at a race this season and most since he got 30 at Southwick in 2025. His sixth in moto one was his best moto one finish this season and tied for his best moto finish of the season.
Budds Creek had been a relative bogey track for Webb in his entire MX career across both classes as this was his second best overall result there. It is the only track that he raced at more than once where he has never led a lap. He had finished fifth three times previously, once in the 450s and twice on a 250.
250 Class
Chance Hymas
Chance Hymas’ season has been building and it came to a crescendo at Budds Creek has he went 2-1 to secure his first overall win of the season and first since Thunder Valley in 2025. The win marks his fourth podium in a row, extending his already personal best streak. He led 19 laps on the day, including all 18 of moto two which brought his career laps led total to 150, moving ahead of Ryan Dungey (146) and Trey Canard (137).
Hymas is the seventh different winner this season in the 250 class which is an all time record for the class and there is still one round remaining. Hymas’ second moto was a clinic, he started in first and then had the fastest lap time, average lap time, and third best consistency rating out of the whole field. He pushed to the end to make sure his victory was secure, setting the fastest time of the final lap. He now sits five points behind third placed Julien Beaumer in the points standings going into the final round.
Cole Davies
Cole Davies went 1-3 for second overall but more importantly, regained the points lead by a healthy 14 points with just one round to go. Budds Creek is the first track he has scored a moto win at in two different seasons as it is where he was given his first, although via penalty, in the 2025 season. Davies’ now seven overall podiums this season are two more than any other rider. He was 132 laps led this season which is over 100 more than the next closest active rider, Hymas (30).
Davies’ first moto victory was the ninth of his career and ties him with Ken Roczen and Ryan Hughes in the class. Davies’ eleven point cushion should be enough to see out the title as the title has never changed hands at the final round in the Lites class if the lead entering is in the double digits.
Landen Gordon
Landen Gordon earned the first moto podium and overall podium of his career by going 3-7 for third overall. Not only was this his first podium, it was the first top ten of his career as his previous best overall finish was eleventh, set at Thunder Valley. He shattered his previous best timed qualifying finish of ninth by setting the fourth fastest time at Budds Creek. He is the eleventh different podium finisher in the class this season which is one away from tying the most ever for a season.
Gordon’s starts certainly played a big role in his results as he rounded lap one in fourth in both motos. He had started inside the top ten in just one moto since the second moto at Thunder Valley. In moto one at Budds, he had the third best average time and best raw time and average time in segment six.
Julien Beaumer
Julien Beaumer found his way back into the top five for the first time since his Spring Creek victory by going 8-4 for fourth overall. Beaumer’s fourth in moto two was his best since that day at Spring Creek where he also finished fourth in the second moto. This was Beaumer’s sixth top five overall finish of the season which doubles his career tally of three entering the season.
Budds Creek is now the venue that Beaumer has raced the most as a professional. He has raced there four times and this was his best overall finish and his fourth in moto two tied his best moto finish there. He finished fourth there in moto one in 2024 which was a career best at the time.
Levi Kitchen
Levi Kitchen earned his first holeshot of the season in moto one but would go down shortly after sending him way back in the field. After a penalty, he would end up 14th in moto one but would bounce back for a second in moto two, crucially making up points on Davies by finish one spot ahead of him. His 14-2 got him fifth overall. Kitchen saw his one point points lead transform into a 14 point deficit entering the final round.
Kitchen had the speed all day, earning the pole position at back to back rounds in the same season for the first time in his career and running a blistering pace in moto two. From laps 7-18, Kitchen had the fastest lap in all but three of them, those three that werent, were second fastest.
Kayden Minear
A good bounce back ride from Kayden Minear saw him earn sixth overall with 5-10 moto scores. This comes one round after he finished outside the top ten for the first time since the opener and finished outside the top ten in both motos for the first time since High Point in 2025. Minear’s eighth place in qualifying was his second best mark of the season, his best is sixth, set at Southwick. His top five in moto one was his first top five moto finish since a third in moto one at Spring Creek.
WMX Class
Lachlan Turner
Lachlan Turner made it back to back victories at Budds Creek with another 1-1 performance. It is the thirteenth overall win of her career and she is now one spot behind Kylie Fasnacht’s fourteen for third most all time. She now leads Charli Cannon by 21 points entering the final round. If she holds on, she’ll become the third WMX rider to threepeat championships joining Fasnacht and Jessica Patterson.
Turner had to fight hard for the win in moto one as she crossed the holeshot line in fifteenth place. She sliced her way into the lead by lap three. In moto two, she put on a great display of speed. She set the fastest lap time of every lap and had the fastest average segment time in six out of seven segments.
Charli Cannon
Charli Cannon would go 2-2 for second overall for the second week in a row at Budds Creek. A subpar start in moto one hindered her but she worked her way to the front quickly and kept Turner close. Cannon set the fastest lap time in qualifying earning her second pole position of the season, tied for the most with Turner.
This was Cannon’s tenth overall podium of her career, tying her with Mariana Balbi for fifteenth in the all time WMX podium leaderboard. She’s done so in just eleven starts. Her streak of ten podiums in a row is the sixth longest in the class of all time. She’s now one away from tying Steffi Laier for the fifth longest.
Mikayla Nielsen
Mikayla Nielsen had one of her best performances of the season at Budds Creek going 3-3 for third overall. It is her first podium since the season opener at Hangtown where she went 2-3, also for third overall. Her two mechanical DNFs have hindered her in the points. Other than those two motos, she has finished in the top five in all eight other motos this season, six of those eight being on the moto podium.
In moto two, Nielsen pulled the holeshot for the first time this season. She also led laps for the first time this season, leading one in each moto. She is tied for fourth in points with Jordan Jarvis and sits just three points behind Taylah McCutcheon in third with one round remaining.
