450 Class
Hunter Lawrence
Hunter Lawrence swept the day as he earned the second perfect day of his 450 career by going 1-1 and securing the pole position in qualifying. To add to the perfection, he also grabbed the holeshots in both motos. He put on a clinic in moto one by setting the fastest lap in 10 of the first 12 laps of the moto. He had the fastest average segment time in ALL five segments as well as the fastest lap and average lap time.
Hunter regained the points lead from his brother Jett and now holds a 10 point cushion which is the largest lead of the season. He also took over the laps led count from Jett. Hunter has now led 112 laps this season to Jett’s 104.
In three races at Spring Creek on a 450, Hunter is averaging a moto finish of 1.50. Only Ricky Carmichael has a better average moto finish there... it is 1.00. Hunter tied Ryan Villopoto in a pair of stats. They each now have 24 overall podiums and 43 moto podiums in the 450 class.
Haiden Deegan
Haiden Deegan continues to improve this season inch by inch. He earned a career best second overall at Spring Creek with 4-2 moto scores. It’s the first time he has finished on the podium in back to back races on a 450. The second place in moto two ties his career best moto finish which he set in moto two one week ago. His second moto average finish this season is now 2.86.
In moto one, Deegan crashed on the start and crossed the holeshot line in 40th place. He climbed all the way to fourth by the end of the moto. He managed to have the third fastest lap of the race and third fastest average lap time while coming through the pack the entire moto. His fitness was on display in that moto as well as he set his fastest lap on lap 14 of 17. He had the fastest lap in three of the last four laps of the moto.
Jett Lawrence
Jett Lawrence salvaged a podium after an awkward crash bumped him from first to fifth in moto two. His 2-5 moto scores got him third overall. This was just the fourth race in his 34 starts in the 450 class in which he did not earn at least one moto victory. Three of those have now happened this season. With his second in moto one, he tied Tim Ferry with 62 moto podiums in the class. This was his 32nd overall podium and he is now one away from tying Chase Sexton, Jeff Stanton, and Kent Howerton.
Jett was on a mission in moto two before his crash. He set the second fastest lap of lap two but then set the fastest lap of each lap (3-10) before his crash on lap 11. He had the fastest segment time in four of the five segments and was second fastest in the other one. Jett had six laps 1:59 or faster in the moto, there was only one other lap in the whole moto, set by Hunter, that was in the 1:59s.
R.J. Hampshire
R.J. Hampshire tied his 450 career best points haul (38) and tied his season best overall finish of fourth with 3-4 moto scores. His third in moto one tied his career best in a moto and it was the fourth time he has done so. He had his best qualifying effort of the season by setting the fourth fastest time in qualifying. His previous best this season was fifth at Red Bud.
Hampshire took sole possession of fifth place in the points standings and is now ten points back from fourth place Jorge Prado. Hampshire is one of four riders to finish in the top ten overall in all seven rounds so far this season, the Lawrence brothers and Haiden Deegan being the others. Hampshire has still never finished outside the top ten in his 450 career. Only Hunter Lawrence and Jean Michel Bayle can say the same.
Justin Barcia
Justin Barcia had the best day of his Ducati career by earning fifth place with 5-8 moto scores. It’s his first top five overall since the 2025 finale when he also finished fifth but with inverted moto scores of 8-5. This was the 60th top five overall finish of his 450 career. He is one of just seven riders in class history to have 60 or more top fives.
Spring Creek is Barcia’s best track in terms of average overall finish on tracks he has raced more than once. He averages an overall of 4.36 there and now has eight top fives in eleven starts. His worst finish is sixth which he finished in those three non-top five results.
Jorge Prado
Jorge Prado salvaged sixth overall by podiuming in moto two. He went 13-3 in the motos after a first turn crash hindered him in moto one. Prado has been good in the second motos of late as he has now finished on the podium three rounds in a row in the second motos. He is now up to seven moto podiums in his AMA career.
Prado has had much better results now over the course of the season in the second motos. His first moto average is 9.71 and that drops all the way down to 4.71 in the second motos. In moto two at Spring Creek, he fended off Hampshire by setting the fastest or second fastest laps in four of the last five laps. He had the fastest average segment time that moto in segment 3 which is the Chad-a-pult through the first half of Mt. Martin.
250 Class
Julien Beaumer
Julien Beaumer emerged victorious at Spring Creek for the first time in his pro motocross career. Beaumer would earn the first moto win of his career in moto one and secure the overall with a fourth in moto two. He earned KTM their first 250 class victory at Spring Creek in 25 years. Grant Langston was last to do so in 2001.
With Sacha Coenen’s win at Southwick, this is the first time KTM has won back to back rounds in the class since 2015. Beaumer is the sixth different winner in seven rounds this season which is tied for the most through seven rounds with the 2021 season. He is the fourth first time winner through seven rounds which also ties a record most, this time with the 2010 season.
Beaumer’s first moto was surgically precise. He had the fastest average lap time and had the best lap time consistency score. He is the only moto winner in the last two seasons to win a 250 moto along with having the best consistency score. He set the fastest lap time of the final five laps of the first moto to make his pass for the lead on the final lap. He set his third fastest lap of the moto on that final lap.
Chance Hymas
It had been mentioned in recent weeks that Chance Hymas was finding his old form again and it all came to fruition in moto two. He took a commanding win in that moto and his 9-1 moto scores would earn him second overall. It is the sixth overall podium of his career and the first since he had a perfect day over a year ago at Thunder Valley in 2025. Hymas has now improved in five straight races with overall finishes of 18-9-7-6-2.
Hymas had the best average lap time in moto two and set the fastest lap in 8 of the 16 laps en route to his win. This was Hymas’ fifth career moto victory in the 250 class which ties him with Cole Davies, R.J. Hampshire, John Dowd, and a few others.
Levi Kitchen
Levi Kitchen regained the points lead emphatically at Spring Creek with his 8-2 moto scores earning him third overall. He entered the day down two points and left up 24. This was the 18th overall podium of his career which ties him with Dean Wilson, John Dowd, Ken Roczen, and Tyla Rattray. His second in moto two was his best moto finish at the venue since he went 1-1 in 2024.
Championship odds swung heavily in Kitchen’s favor at Spring Creek. When riders have a 24 point points lead or more through seven rounds, they go onto win the title 88.00% of the time. Kitchen has gotten this points lead with consistency as he is the only rider to finish in the top five at all seven rounds. His nine laps led this season are the least by a points leader since lap data became available in 2004.
Kayden Minear
Kayden Minear was just a couple laps away from his first career overall podium but would settle for fourth place, tying a career best which he set just one week ago at Southwick. Minear went 3-6 in the motos and pulled the first holeshots of his career in both of them. He led laps in both motos totaling to ten on the day. Minear’s third in moto one tied his best moto finish which he has set two other times this season.
Minear’s first moto scores have been improving at each round since round three. They have been 13-10-9-6-3. He is all the way up to fourth place in the points standings now with 199 points on the season.
Carson Mumford
Carson Mumford put in one of the digs of the season to earn a career best third place in moto two. His moto scores of 11-3 would earn him another career best of fifth overall, shattering his previous best of eighth. He has been enjoying a career best season and he has now finished in the top ten in three straight races for the second time in his career and the first time since 2020.
Mumford crossed the holeshot line in eighth place in that second moto and marched his way forward through multiple factory riders. His speed was on display as he set the third fastest lap time and average lap time in the moto. He had the back half of the track dialed. He had the fastest raw segment times in segments four and five. He had the fastest average segment time in segment four and second fastest average in segment five.
Drew Adams
Drew Adams easily had the best day of his season and it started in qualifying where he earned the second pole position of his MX career. Subpar starts held him back in the motos but he still finished sixth overall with 7-7 moto scores. Seventh is his best moto score since he got fifth in moto one at the 2025 finale. Sixth overall is the second best overall finish of his career.
Despite the subpar starts in each moto, they were the best he has gotten all season. Between the two motos at Spring Creek he averaged a first lap position of 12.50. In the four rounds he raced prior, he averaged 27.00. His eighth lap one position in moto one was his first start in the top ten this season.
